Dental Implant Restorations
An excellent alternative to ill-fitting dentures, dental implants offer a sturdier, more stable support for your removable full or partial dentures. Additionally, in many cases implants can replace missing teeth, giving you permanent single-tooth or bridgework restorations of your dental arch that can last a lifetime. The dental implant-supported restorations mimic the natural roots and crowns of your teeth, providing strong and confident chewing surfaces. Placing implants is a delicate and precise surgical procedure, which is why it is important to choose the most skilled and experienced clinicians to perform this surgery. At Watergate Dental Associates, we assemble a team of restorative and implant specialists to restore the function and esthetics of your smile. Following the implant surgery, three to six months are needed to allow the implant to integrate with the surrounding bone to establish a firm support, before the implant-supported crowns, bridges or dentures can be inserted.

Lumineers® Porcelain Veneers
For years, dentists have been using porcelain veneers to correct a variety of imperfections in their patients’ teeth. With traditional veneers, there is often a need for tooth reduction, requiring anesthesia and temporary tooth coverage as part of the proper preparation of the teeth for veneering. Now, Lumineers by Cerinate© can give stunning results utilizing the “no-prep” technique and contact-lens thin porcelain veneers, virtually eliminating the need for shots or aggressive grinding of the natural teeth.
Ask one of our specialists about Lumineers© if you have:
- stained or discolored teeth
- oddly shaped teeth
- chipped teeth
- crooked teeth
- teeth with small holes in them
- inappropriately sized teeth
Advances in porcelain technology have allowed for the creation of ultra-thin high-strength porcelain veneers to be custom-designed to address the cosmetic needs of our patients. The contact-lens thin Lumineer Porcelain Veneers are shaped for a precise fit, with custom shade modifications incorporated directly into the porcelain surface, which are then individually bonded to the teeth. Tooth imperfections, chipping, misalignments, space closures, and immediate tooth whitening can be achieved quickly and comfortably in as little as one to two weeks. The result is an eye-catching new smile that would otherwise take extensive treatment to achieve, often with lengthy orthodontic treatment, tooth whitening, or more aggressive restorative treatments.
No matter what you don’t like about your smile, Lumineers© can give you a smile others will admire. Contact our office to find out how the smile of your dreams can be yours in just two visits with Lumineers© porcelain veneers.
Dental Bonding
If you have chipped, cracked or discolored teeth, one of our experienced dentists can use tooth-colored composite resin bonding materials to repair your teeth, to close gaps, or to cover or reshape your teeth to instantly transform and improve your smile. Bonded restorative materials can also be safely used to restore decayed teeth, and to replace old, worn or leaky mercury-silver restorations
If you have gaps, or chipped, cracked, or discolored teeth, ask one of our experienced dentists about dental bonding.
Crowns
Grinding your teeth, an improper bite, age, deterioration of old fillings and tooth decay can lead to wear and tear on your natural teeth. When the structural integrity of a tooth is compromised, a full crown restoration may be the necessary solution. After conservative tooth preparation to allow for space for the crown restoration, the dentist may place a temporary crown until the laboratory returns the permanent crown for insertion at the second visit. In many cases, however, a single-visit all-porcelain CEREC® crown may be crafted chair-side, and inserted in only one visit.
Bridgework
When dental implants are not an appropriate solution for replacing missing teeth, a bridge may be the recommended method of restoring the dental arch integrity. If spaces are left unfilled, the surrounding teeth may begin to drift out of position, causing damaging bite collapse and other traumatic bite interferences. The loss of arch integrity can also lead to unsightly cosmetic problems, as well as eating difficulties. In a bridge, the missing tooth or teeth are replaced by crown(s) that are seamlessly fused in the bridge framework to crowns that cover the teeth adjacent to the space. The resulting cemented bridgework serves as a permanent, natural-looking and comfortable replacement for the missing tooth or teeth.
Inlays and Onlays
If the damage to your tooth from decay or old, extensive restorations undermines supporting cusps but does not require a full-crown coverage, then an inlay or an onlay restoration may be recommended. After the appropriate tooth preparation, an impression will be taken to be sent to the laboratory for the fabrication of the inlay or onlay, either out of porcelain or full gold. The tooth preparation will be temporarily covered until the permanent restoration can be inserted at the subsequent visit. In many cases, however, a CEREC© porcelain inlay or onlay restoration can be prepared and permanently bonded in place in a single dental appointment. With CEREC© restorative technology, multiple restorations can be placed in a single dental appointment.
CEREC© 3D
CEREC© 3D is a unique restorative technology that makes it possible for many of the most common dental procedures, such as inlay and onlay porcelain restorations, and all-porcelain crowns to be prepared and permanently placed on your teeth in just one office visit! The name CEREC© stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. CEREC© 3D is a computer-aided image capture, design and milling system that uses strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials to create high quality restorations. Using this technology, the strength, beauty, and function of your teeth are restored while preserving more of your healthy tooth structure, and with less time out of your busy schedule. The bonded ceramic restoration that is generated by using CEREC© 3D will restore most of the tooth’s original strength, and greatly enhance its esthetic appearance. Many of the dental procedures that used to take two, or even three, office visits, now can be completed in one convenient appointment. CEREC© 3D restorations are completely metal-free, and use the finest, most advanced ceramic materials, which closely mimic the properties of your natural tooth structure, and are designed to be strong enough to stand the test of time. Nite White® or Day White® At-home Whitening
Patients who wish to whiten their teeth in the convenience of their own home should consider the Day-White® or Nite-White® at-home teeth whitening systems. The Nite-White® is kept in the mouth overnight, while the Day-White® whitens teeth in only 30 minutes of application twice a day. With both systems, flexible and inconspicuous custom-fitted trays keep the whitening gel against the tooth surfaces to be whitened over the designated period of time, resulting in whiter teeth within the first couple of days of application. Maximum lasting results can be achieved in as little as 7 to 14 days. Contact us today, and in just a few more days, you’ll be showing off your whiter smile!

Zoom!© whitening is completely safe, effectively removing stains from tobacco, coffee, tea, and other stains from aging, while it restores a sparkling white smile in one comfortable visit.
Full/Partial Dentures
If dental implants are not the appropriate option to replace your missing teeth, contact Watergate Dental Associates to discuss full or partial dentures to restore your bite and your smile. Replacing your missing teeth will benefit not only your health, but your self-confidence as well. Without your natural teeth or proper, well-fitting replacements, your facial muscles will sag, creating the unfortunate effect of making you look and feel much older. Having missing teeth also affects speech patterns, and can impede you from chewing properly and fully absorbing the nutrients from your diet. If you only need to fill gaps in your smile, a partial denture, which is anchored around your existing natural teeth, will help prevent your natural teeth from shifting out of place, and will allow the stresses of chewing to be better distributed. This will reduce the chance of further tooth loss, and restore your comfort and your confidence.
